ABIC’s “Pump up the Revamp!” Contest

On March 9, 2017, we had a contest called “Pump up the Revamp!” wherein the goal was to attract visitors to our awesome new website. The mechanics was easy: each department were given the task of doing a creative photo (and boy, how creative they were!) encouraging their Facebook friends to visit and possibly navigate through our website. We will then post the photo on our official Facebook account. From there, whoever gets the most likes, shares and more importantly, web visits will be crowned as the winner! Pretty simple, eh?

As soon as the contest was announced, everyone went out of their way to pose and snap a few photos either in our reception area, conference room or even in the fire exit! Every department were all willing to win that even our president, Ms. Rebecca Dela Cruz, participated and joined this writer for a few photos as well.

Trying to determine the winner was tedious as we had to count the actual number of unique visitors and which department got the highest number of shares and likes. Luckily, the tech-wizards from our I. T. Department was able to come up with a way on how to track unique IP addresses which made things less complicated.

By the time March 13 rolled around, everyone in the office had their fingers crossed because the winner will be announced late afternoon of the same day.

The prize? Merit points for our employee’s performance appraisal which means, they can possibly get a raise and on top of that, a special gift from our management. Who can say no to that, right? However, there can only be one winner. Despite all the efforts on Facebook from each department, the one that took the crown was our Finance Department with a whopping 100 shares and 46 unique visits! Considering that they were the last to submit, their entry was quite different because theirs was a narrative in GIF format (kudos to our Accounting Officers!).

Despite not winning the contest, each department still felt winners because the goal of the contest was to drive traffic and awareness about our brand. Even if all of the departments competed against each other, we are all still under one banner. Through unison, we can achieve our goals and drive our company to greater heights. With that, we felt proud to be working for this company and more than proud to say #IamAlliedBankers
